1st CupCarbon Workshop 2025

Celebrating 10 Years of CupCarbon

November 18-20, 2025
University of Dubai, UAE
Jointly with ICSPIS 2025

About the Workshop

The First CupCarbon Workshop will be held on November 18-20, 2025, at the University of Dubai, UAE, jointly organized with ICSPIS 2025 and the University of Sharjah. This inaugural event celebrates the 10th anniversary of CupCarbon's public release and brings together the global community of researchers, educators, and practitioners who have contributed to the platform's success. The workshop welcomes short papers (maximum 4 pages, IEEE format) covering Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, and Digital Twin research. Highlights include a special tutorial session by Prof. Ahcene Bounceur, the platform's creator, and the presentation of the 1st CupCarbon Trophy for the best contribution. This milestone event aims to foster collaboration, share innovations, and chart the future direction of CupCarbon and IoT simulation research.

About CupCarbon

CupCarbon is the world's first free and comprehensive Digital Twin/IoT simulation platform, originally developed in 2013 by Prof. Ahcene Bounceur and his team (Prof. Mohammad Hammoudeh from MMU/KFUPM, Prof. Abdelkader Laouid from University of Eloued and Madani Bezoui from CESI). What began as a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) simulator has evolved into a powerful tool for modeling Internet of Things ecosystems, Digital Twins, and Multi-Agent AI systems. Used by over 100 universities across 80+ countries, CupCarbon has become the global reference for IoT simulation, offering real-world geographical integration, advanced energy modeling, and support for various communication protocols. The platform democratizes access to sophisticated simulation technology, enabling researchers, educators, and students worldwide to innovate in smart cities, Industry 4.0, precision agriculture, and environmental monitoring applications.
